How GridGuesser Works

How GridGuesser Works

  1. 1.Predict the full finishing order of the 22-driver grid for a race weekend.
  2. 2.Submit your prediction before the deadline.
  3. 3.After the race, your prediction is scored against the official qualifying and race results.
  4. 4.Your points count toward your season championship position.

Prediction Rules

  • • You predict the entire 22-driver grid, ordered 1st to last.
  • • Drag to reorder — each driver appears once (no duplicates).
  • • Submit any time before the deadline and edit as often as you like.
  • • When the deadline passes (or an admin locks the race), your prediction is locked.
  • • No prediction? Your most recent previous prediction is carried over; otherwise you score 0.

Scoring

Each driver is worth up to 22 points. Exact position = 22, minus 1 point per position difference (minimum 0). The same scoring runs against qualifying and the race, so a perfect weekend is 968 points (484 + 484).

Example: you predict L.Norris to finish P1 and he finishes P2 — that's 1 away, so you earn 21 points for him (22 − 1).

Prediction Deadlines

  • • Each race has a prediction deadline, usually set around qualifying start.
  • • You can submit or edit until the deadline.
  • • At the deadline, predictions lock automatically. Admins can also lock manually.
  • • Once locked, a prediction can't be changed.

Results

  • • After the race, admins enter or auto-fetch the official qualifying and race results.
  • • Every prediction is compared to the results and points are calculated.
  • • Your race score is saved and added to your championship total.
  • • Championship standings update immediately.

Leaderboard

  • • The Global Leaderboard ranks all active players by total championship points.
  • • It shows your position, recent movement and the closest battles around you.
  • • Leagues are separate private competitions — they don't affect the global championship.

How XP Is Earned

XP is separate from Championship Points. Championship Points determine your position in the prediction championship. XP powers your GridGuesser progression — tiers and achievements. Earning XP does not add points to the championship standings.

Submitting a prediction+10 XP

Awarded for each prediction you submit, one per race.

Exact position prediction+5 XP

Per driver you place in their exact finishing position, across scored races.

Correct winner+20 XP

Per race where you correctly predict the winner (P1).

Correct top 2+25 XP

Per race where you correctly predict the winner and 2nd place in order.

Perfect podium+50 XP

Per race where you correctly predict the top 3 finishers in order.

Prediction streak+15 XP

Per race in your longest streak of consecutive submissions.

Championship position gained+20 XP

Per championship position climbed in the standings over the season.

Achievement unlocked+30 XP

Per GridGuesser achievement you unlock.

  • • XP is awarded automatically when the relevant action is completed.
  • • XP and Championship Points are tracked separately.
  • • XP contributes towards your GridGuesser tier and progression (Rookie → Champion).
